All Kids Academy Head Start is honored to receive recognition as the very first child care center in California from the California Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR) as a 2020 Integrated Pest Management (IPM) achievement award winner! AKA Head Start, along with four other California organizations, accepted this award at yesterday’s IPM Achievement Awards ceremony. The DPR “recognizes organizations that are leaders in using reduced-risk pest management practices and sharing their successful strategies with others.” At the IPM Achievement Awards, DPR highlighted the exceptional work and accomplishments of each organization.
The DPR recognized AKA Head Start’s IPM program that “focuses on strong communication, careful monitoring, and active prevention to manage pests. AKA Head Start, Inc. partners with experts to find the most effective, lower-risk options to protect children in its care from pests and pesticide risk. “AKA Head Start, Inc. sets the bar for IPM implementation and Healthy Schools Act compliance at child care programs in California.”
Accepting the award on behalf of the agency was Executive Director Yolanda Perez and QA Specialist Debbie Sanchez.
