June 8, 2020 – Update from the Director

Dear 2019-2020 Parents/Guardians,

As the school year is coming to an end, there is a mix of emotions regarding the end of the school year and what is expected in the future. While we have missed having your child in the classroom, and doing family engagement activities together, we appreciate and thank you for your strong parental role, in particular during these difficult and anxious times. The Board of Directors, management, and staff, want to thank you for your partnership, and wish You and Your Family continued well-being and safety this summer. Please continue to visit our website at akaheadstart.org as we will be posting summer activities and resources both fun and helpful.

We are grateful that All Kids Academy is re-opening centers in September for children enrolled in the 2020-2021 school year. If your child is returning for a second year of service, your Family Service Advocate will be reaching out to you by June 12 if any additional enrollment paperwork is needed. If you are unsure if your child’s enrollment qualifies for an automatic second year, please reach out to our enrollment department at (619) 270-7009 extension 7001 and leave a message. Your message will be returned within 72 hours.

If you are wanting to enroll your child for the 2020-2021 school year, inquiry forms will be available on-line soon. Required enrollment documentation will be accepted digitally and verified by uploading onto our enrollment website. More information is forthcoming and will be posted to our website.

Please know that we are still navigating new policies and procedures for re-opening centers, and it is likely September’s opening will be different from other years. From taking temperatures, to reducing classroom size, management is planning with the safety of your children and the staff, as priority number one.

We thank you for your participation in the Head Start/Early Head Start, and State Preschool experience this 2019-2020 school year, and wish you and your family the best towards finding our ”new normal.” Remember that we are in this together.
