A Letter All Kids Academy Head Start, Inc. Families

We extend our heartfelt sympathies to those affected by the recent tragic events in the Middle East. We recognize that these events may create negative impacts to our community. For some, who may be grappling with feelings of grief and loss, these acts of terrorism and the distressing images circulating can understandably lead to anxiety, especially for families with loved ones in harm’s way.

Our top priority is the well-being and emotional health of our staff, students and their families. We want to assure you that we have compassionate, professional mental health resources available, so please talk to your child’s Family Service Worker or Center Director, who can make a referral. In addition, we have gathered some valuable free resources for families that may prove helpful during these challenging times:

  • Common Sense Media has a resource about How to Talk to Kids About Violence, Crime and War
  • The National Association of School Psychologists offers strategies for Talking to Children About Violence
  • UNICEF also has a guide concerning How to talk to your children about conflict and war.
  • Resources for families and teachers on talking with students about injustice and trauma.

It’s important to reiterate that All Kids Academy Head Start does not tolerate any form of violence or hate speech within our Organization. Our commitment remains unwavering in ensuring safety is at the forefront of our minds. As we continue to create welcoming and respectful environments, we want our students, staff, and families to trust that our schools are safe spaces for everyone. We have a commitment and investment in your child, so please do not hesitate to reach out to your child’s Teacher, Family Service Worker, or Center Director, if you need any support or assistance during this difficult time.
